The Las Vegas Hospitality Association (LVHA) was looking for an experience that would spark and strengthen relationships amongst its members, whilst surpassing the high expectations set from the prior year’s well received ‘LVHA's Got Talent’. And another 'ho hum' team building experience just wouldn't cut it. So they called SongDivision USA…



150 Meetings & Events Industry professionals gathered at one of the world’s great nightclubs, Marquee in Las Vegas. Over a warm-up cocktail they were treated to an opening number by the fabulous SongDivision Las Vegas band, consisting of musicians who’ve performed with Billy Joel, Cheap Trick, Rock of Ages, Blue Man Group and the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Our MC then announced that they were all going to take part in a Song Slam! They were going to be split into four groups, assigned a musician, and within just an hour, write a completely original song about Las Vegas, then perform it in a battle of the bands showdown…team building disguised as a rock concert!

Having produced these events around the world since 2003, we know that this announcement can freak people out as they think they’re going to have to sing or perform on their own. We also know that we get unrivalled engagement and attendees LOVE the experience despite their initial fears! Here’s some of the communication LVHA sent out to its members leading up to the event:

Who isn’t this event for?! This is for Disney Miley AND VMA Miley! This is for Billy Ray and Dr. Dre! This is for the Hannah Montanas or the hoteliers from Montana. There is a comfort zone here for you. If you fly better with a wing man, bring a homie! No matter what, you’ll be rockin’ away with more contacts – and friends – than you rolled in with!

Kanye…this is getting ridiculous. Yes, there will be a microphone with your name on it. Just take it from Taylor the stage hand when you arrive.

We understand that not everyone likes their cheese moved! But we can’t stop - and we won’t stop - expanding the horizons and benefits for our members! And we promise that it’s virtually painless…maybe even easier than listening to a Britney song without auto-tune!

The Result:
